Architect Designer

Position Overview

As an Architect Designer, you will collaborate with the Lead Principal Architect and other designated professionals on various design projects. Your role includes planning, designing, and overseeing projects from conception through development while ensuring adherence to specifications and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Collaboration:
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate project ideas.
    • Assist in completing design drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other 3D software.
    • Facilitate project research and outline schedules and tasks.
  • Communication and Coordination:
    • Maintain consistent communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to monitor project progress and address queries.
    • Coordinate project details, ensuring alignment with specifications and dimensions.
  • Feasibility and Reporting:
    • Prepare and present feasibility reports and design proposals to the management team.
    • Assess environmental impact and provide relevant reports.
  • Tender Preparation and Negotiation:
    • Develop and submit tender applications, presentations, and contract documents.
    • Negotiate with contractors and collaborate closely with building service engineers, construction managers, and quantity surveyors.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage projects from initiation to completion, including planning applications for control departments.
    • Conduct regular site visits to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
    • Identify and resolve issues during construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure design intent is communicated effectively to the main contractor on site.
    • Highlight and coordinate critical dimensions and details with other trades.
    • Liaise with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to address technical issues.

Candidate Profile

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in site supervision and technical coordination, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
    • Between 3 to 5 years of experience participating in project development with a strong knowledge and mastery of Revit.
    • Willingness to relocate to Mauritius for a duration of 1 year or more.
    • Strong ability to create clear and visually appealing presentations and reports.
    • Proven skills in addressing complex design challenges and offering innovative solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a positive collaborative environment.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in drawings and compliance with project specifications.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
