Scaffolding Supervisor

Overall Responsibility

The Scaffolding Supervisor will be responsible to assist the Site Manager in his daily scaffolding operations.

 

Performs – inter alia – the following duties:

  • Oversee the erection of the scaffolds.
  • Oversee and inspect mobile scaffolds.
  • Design and pre-plan of the scaffold erection including weight limitations, scaffold type, fall protection, tie-offs, support, etc.
  • Support the construction site team on site ensuring that the scaffolding operation is fully conversant wil all related standards and procedures.
  • Monitot and ensure that a comprehensive record of documentation and certification of scaffolding inspection work is maintained.
  • Perform final inspection of the scaffold prior to initial occupation for use.
  • Daily inspection and documentation of the condition of the scaffold and its ability to be occupied safely.
  • Inspect scaffolds after changes/alterations have been made.
  • Plan and monitor scaffolding inventory.
  • Train employees as and when required.
  • Work in collaboration with the safety and Health Officers.

Qualifications and skills

  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree or any relevant qualifications related to post.
  • NC4 in Scaffolding/MITD Certification in Scaffolding.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Scaffolding.
  • Fully conversant with MS Office Packages.
  • Flexible to work odd hours within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans.
  • Detailed-oriented and self-organizer.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Well acquainted with Health and Safety Regulations
