Procurement and Sourcing Executive

Job Purpose

Identify and secure reliable sources of quality goods from foreign suppliers, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery cycles to meet the needs of the organization.Develop and document the sourcing processes and systems to improve efficiency and compliance.

Main Duties

  • Assess foreign suppliers of goods, analyze performance and satisfaction in terms of pricing, supply, delivery, and quality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective suppliers by visiting foreign locations and discussing price, product quality, and delivery cycles.
  • Verify business and financial references of prospective suppliers.
  • Recommend potential suppliers to purchasing director or other appropriate staff.
  • Coordinate trial orders with new suppliers.
  • Coordinate and expedites import process as required.
  • Oversee delivery dates, quality of production, and sufficiency of product.
  • Negotiate terms of payments with suppliers.
  • Identify and implement preferred payment methods.
  • Maintain current knowledge of external factors that could affect availability of goods and pricing; examples include applicable import regulations, taxes, tariffs, and political and economic situations in the countries of origin.
  • Support the Category Leads with NPD, onboarding and harmonization, whenever required, by collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure that the right materials are being supplied and delivered.
  • Execute analyses and make suggestions for improvement of overall sourcing strategy
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in business or specialization in advanced procurement management will be advantageous and 5+years of related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, contracting and communication skills.
  • Should have adequate skills to develop and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies for the company.
  • Ability to think strategically so that the company can take advantage of business processes, industry dynamics, supplier experiences, and manufacturing practices, and general market conditions, etc.
  • Ability to perform financial analysis of the cost of every sourcing.
  • Ability to work with various levels of the supplier from the local and international market.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and proven aptitude to partner effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (i.e., top management, colleagues, suppliers, and internal/external customers).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.
