Cost Controller (Manufacturing/Construction)
Duties and Responsibilities
• Issuance of progress claims for all running projects.
• Issuance of progress claims – External Clients
• Issuance of Waiver of Hypothec for all running projects.
• Issuance of Cession of Rights for all running projects.
• Follow up on IPC from Main Contractor.
• Do site visits to check on actual progress on site.
• Cross verification of actual works done on site prior to preparing payment certificates and approving progress claim from Sub Cons.
• Notification to sub con for any discrepancy for reworks prior to payment.
• To issue letter of non-conformance to sub con where applicable.
• To cross verify all Request for information and site instructions from main contractor and re-address claim(s) accordingly.
• To make quality checks on site to ensure progress claim from Sub Con is justified. To contra charge sub con for any reworks where applicable.
• Preparation of quotations for client modifications.
• Issue variation orders for all running & external clients.
• Follow up on variation orders approval from MC and ensure same is claimed accordingly.
• Support Project Manager on TENDER submissions.
• Provide detailed allowable on projects for all trades.
• Provide resources allowable (manpower) and monitor expenses vs budget.
• Negotiate with sub-contractors and work out rates.
• Prepare sub-contractors’ agreement in line with the industry requirements.
• Be knowledgeable regarding FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
• Understand the timeline for payment applications
• Support the Estimating team with quotations as and when required
• BSc Quantity Surveying or relevant courses related to Cost Control.
• Experience in Construction Industry, Fit-Out/Joinery, Metal and Aluminium.
• Hands on work experience as Cost Controller.
• Good analytical and mathematical skills with precise attention to details.
• Knowledge in cost estimation and cost analysis.
• Knowledge in calculation in Excel with formula input.
• Good communication skills – verbal and written in English and French.
• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines for preparation and submission of claims.
• Holder of a valid driving license and must have own means of transport for site visits.
