Duties

• Read and interpret plans, designs, blueprints, etc. including specifications.
• Reparation and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other wooden structures.
• Cut and shape wood materials to obtain components for a furniture unit.
• Assemble and join wood components with the aid of nails, glue, and hammer to form a complete structure.
• Install wood add-ons such as hinges, handles, and locks onto finished products.
• Operate tools, machines, and other equipment.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are working properly, safety gear is worn all the time, and work areas are free of debris or other hazards.
• Oversee the cleaning of work areas at the end of each day.
• Ensure all work done is thoroughly checked and are of highest standard.
• Ensure that all health and safety aspects are observed at all times including Standard Operating Procedures.
• Any other cognate duties related to post.

Requirements

• Proven experience as Carpenter.
• Possess good skills, techniques for carpentry including installation and reparation.
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
• Ability to read plans, technical diagrams for carpentry tasks.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety in terms of proper usage of equipment and wearing of required PPE while performing job.
• Attention to details, precision techniques and wastage control.
• Punctual, professional, and good attitude at work.
• Good physical condition and ability to lift and carry lightweight materials.
